Charles A. James, Ph.D. founded North American Healthcare Management Services in 1992. His brothers John, Don, and Robert were all physicians. Together, they pioneered the first medical groups in Rural Missouri. The James Clinic grew from two physicians in one location to forty three full time physicians, and several part-time physicians, in nine locations.
These clinics were among the first Certified Rural Health Clinics (RHC) in the state of Missouri. North American Healthcare Management Services began by providing RHC certification services to its clients.

Dr. James died March 28, 2004. Charles James, Jr. took over as CEO and David James became the CFO. We have since implemented helped implement the Rural Health Clinic Program, and helped manage Federally-Qualified Health Centers across the country . We have developed our system into a state of the art, HIPAA compliant, Virtual Private Network which allow clients real-time system access, patient inquiry, and financial reporting. We use our network to provide a full range of services, from comprehensive data entry to shared data entry depending on our client’s needs. Over the last ten years, North American has expanded it’s services to all types of medical practices.

Aprima PRM has robust rural health clinic and federally-qualified health center functionality. We can easily handle the new line item billing requirement for rural health clinics and provider-based rural health clinics. Aprima’s federally-qualified health center module is second to none. We have full UDS reporting, UB04 billing, and G-code billing under the prospective payment system introduced in 2015.
